A shaker card is a fun and interactive card with a clear window or compartment holding small items such as sequins, glitter, or confetti. When the card is shaken, the things inside the window move and create a "shaking" effect.

How to create a shaker card:

Gather your materials. You will need the following supplies:

- Cardstock paper or pre-made card base

- Clear acetate or cellophane sheet

- Double-sided tape or foam adhesive dots

- Small items to fill the shaker window (such as sequins, glitter, confetti, or beads)

- Scissors or paper cutter

- Craft knife or scissors (optional)

- Stamps, ink, and other embellishments (optional)

Cut your cardstock paper to the desired size for your card. You can skip this step if you use a pre-made card base. The standard card size is 5.5 inches by 4.25 inches.

Cut the acetate or cellophane sheet to size. Measure and cut the acetate or cellophane sheet to fit the window area of your card. You can use a craft knife or scissors to cut the sheet to the desired size and shape.

Create the shaker window. Double-sided tape or foam adhesive dots attach the acetate or cellophane sheet to the cardstock paper, creating a window. Be sure to leave enough space around the edges of the window for the tape or adhesive dots to hold the acetate or cellophane in place.

Add the small items to the shaker window. Fill the shaker window with the small things of your choice. You can use sequins, glitter, confetti, or beads or mix and match different items for a more varied effect.

Close the shaker window. Use additional double-sided tape or foam adhesive dots to secure the top layer of the acetate or cellophane sheet in place, creating a sealed window. Be sure to press down firmly to ensure that the window is securely closed.

Add any additional embellishments (optional). You can use stamps, ink, and other embellishments to decorate the front and inside of the card. This is an excellent opportunity to get creative and add your personal touch to the card.

Write your message. Use a pen or marker to write a message inside the card. You can write a personal note or quote or wish the recipient a happy birthday or congratulations.

Assemble the card. If you cut your cardstock paper, fold the paper in half to create a crease and form the card base. If you are using a pre-made card base, skip this step.

Add the front panel. Glue or tape the front panel onto the card base, ensuring it is centered and evenly positioned.

And that's it! Your shaker card is now complete.
