The Swapping Forecast: do seasons affect your swapping habits?

Does your swapping activity vary throughout the year, or do you snail mail consistently year-round? In my experience, swapping tends to slow down during summer and vacation periods.

(In the Netherlands, school summer vacation 2023 is between July 8th to September 3rd and is divided into three regions to prevent the entire country from going on holiday simultaneously.)

I swap items all year round, but during the summer months, I may only be able to do so occasionally due to the heat. Since I don't have air conditioning in my craft room, I can't spend as much time there as I'd like. Unfortunately, I chose the sunny side of my home, making it even more challenging to stay in the room for long periods.

How about you? Are you a year-round swapper like me, or do you slow down during certain times of the year?

There is a running pattern with people who sign up for swaps over the Christmas period who are known to be flakers (people who dont send), just so they can clean up on the good will of other swappers.

But generally I find myself swapping more in the Autumn and Spring which are my personal less busy periods - Im also quite a sucker for some of the themes around both seasons.

Yes, unfortunately, while Christmas can be a wonderful time, it doesn't always bring out the best in people.

For me, fall is also a favorite season, especially the sweater weather vibes 🍁
