For many years, I've used a regular kitchen scale to weigh my packages before shipping, as it's always been very accurate. However, I've consistently faced issues with PostNL misjudging the size of my packages. This often leads to an unexpected increase in weight and, as a result, higher shipping costs. (Luckily, I have been able to contest them all.)
To safeguard against this, I've begun photographing my packages as a form of evidence (at home or at the PostNL point). Today, I had an encounter that left me baffled. I had three packages to send, all birthday presents, each prelabelled and ready for dispatch. I went to Hoogvliet PostNl point to have them weighed separately to ensure accuracy, a practice born from my past experiences with PostNL.
However, the lady at the counter simply refused to weigh them individually. She was adamant that it was unnecessary since they were already prelabelled. What I thought would be a straightforward process turned into a debate. I tried explaining the need to scan them one by one, expecting a quick process: scan, next, and so on. But, it escalated into an unnecessary and time-consuming hassle.
Quite the soap at the PostNL, all in the name of avoiding trouble! We are turning the PostNL TV off now, hahaha!
