Enhancing engagement and regional swaps at Snail Mail Friends

We recently conducted a random survey among the Snail Mail Friends community to gather essential feedback and insights. Our findings indicate that the site has not fully met the expectations of many members, particularly those who have yet to participate in any swaps. Unfortunately, a significant number of respondents did not provide reasons for their dissatisfaction. We are earnestly seeking more detailed feedback and suggestions to improve our platform. If you received the survey but haven't filled it out yet, doing so would be greatly appreciated.

A key issue identified in our survey was the lack of regional swaps. If you have a Standard, Premium, or Platinum membership, you are able to launch your own events, including regional swaps. Interested in hosting? Go ahead and create one, and remember, we're here to help if you need any assistance.

For those who have specific swap ideas but aren't inclined to host, your suggestions are still incredibly valuable. We encourage you to share these ideas on the forum. Our community, especially those enthusiastic about regional swaps, is keen to support and bring your ideas to life.

In light of the responses received, we've launched an Event account designed to periodically shift focus to various countries. As a first measure, we've introduced two pilot swaps specifically for our U.S. members, who form a notable part of our community. The insights gained from these pilot swaps will be instrumental in refining our approach towards more inclusive and diverse regional swaps in the future.

In conclusion, your active involvement, be it through hosting swaps or sharing creative ideas, is crucial to the growth and vibrancy of our Snail Mail Friends community. Together, let's enrich our swapping experience and foster a dynamic environment where all members feel engaged and valued. We eagerly anticipate your unique contributions to our future swaps!

I think postage can sometimes be an issue, especially between Europe and the USA. It is very expensive. I don't know how partners are assigned but it would be great to have several options when we join an event :

Option 1: A partner anywhere

Option 2 : A partner in the USA

Option 3 : A partner in Europe

And maybe option 4 : A partner in my country.

Sometimes, I don't mind shipping worldwide, but other times, I know that shipping costs are going to be very expensive (a Round Robin creative journal, for example) and I would love to have the possibility to select only Europe.

With the shipping options, there would be no need to create twice the same event (one for Europe, one for the USA) and maybe people would join more easily.

Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the partner assignments for events ❤️ We're all too aware of how postage costs can add up, especially in a hobby like snail mailing that isn't exactly cheap, right?

Regarding the Round Robin journals, we've got to organize them by region or on an international level, as they need to travel from one person to another. This means we can't sort it based on individual preferences, but we're hoping this still works for most of our members.

For our other events, the system pairs members with random. Our community isn't active in event swapping, so setting up location preferences is a bit challenging at the moment (it would mean pairing is almost impossible).

Your input is super valuable, though, and we're always thinking about ways to make things better for everyone. Thanks a ton for being part of what we do, for your awesome suggestions and also the events you organize!!
